International Pioneers School’s main priority is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our staff and students. The school has been monitoring the day to day Covid-19 situation, following the directives given by MOE and MOPH and is in constant communication with ISAT with regards to the situation updates of Covid-19.

Covid-19 Description

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans. 

Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

School Safety Precaution

– Daily Location Log at ips.ac.th

-Frequent and proper handwashing is practised by everyone at school.

– Students are advised to wear their face mask properly every day.

– Sanitation and disinfection of all school facilities.

– Temperature check by the gate every day.

– Updated WHO Infographics are posted around the school.

– 14 days quarantine for students and staff who travelled, in transit and come in close contact with people who visited the listed high-risk countries.

IPS UPDATES:

– 11th Januray 2021

-Virtual lessons will be continued until January 31, 2021 or until further notice, following the school regular timetable.

-The school office will be open every day to assist our parents and teachers in our endeavour towards uninterrupted learning.

-4th January 2021

– resumption of classes through online learning.

– 2nd January 2021

–The BMA and the MOE have announced the closure of all schools for two weeks after the New Year holidays as the authorities try to rein in on the new wave of coronavirus pandemic.

-International Pioneers School (IPS) will not conduct in-class (physical) teaching from Monday January 04, 2021 but will migrate to online teaching from January 04, 2021. Teachers will conduct online teaching from January 04, 2021 until January 15, 2021 or until further notice.

12th August

– As per Ministry of education’s (MOE) instruction, all schools may resume classroom lessons and can conduct on-site teaching.

– International Pioneers School will be in strict compliance with the safety guidelines imposed by the Ministry of public health (MOPH)

-13th June

 – IPS students return to school for face-to-face learning on 16^th June 2020.

 Note: Kindly register your child’s name to confirm that your child will learn at school. Parents who did not confirm your child’s name will be automatically listed with the students who are learning remotely (online).

 Parents may fill out the confirmation form forwarded to you by the school through email to register and confirm that your child will be learning at school. We have to allocate quota and divide the classes into smaller groups.

-12th June

– Announcement in the Royal Gazette, ‘Schools can now reopen following the safety guidelines provided by MOE/BMA and the CDC.

-11th June

 – School inspection for preparedness in opening the school by the Thailand Ministry of Education (MOE) Officers.

 – IPS received a perfect score from MOE inspection with regards to school preparedness for students return to school safely.

– 17th May

– Online learning at IPS will continue until further announcement.

– 15th April

– Online learning will resume on April 20, 2020 until May 01, 2020. All classes will be conducted as per normal school time table- online.

– IPS campus will remain closed for students until May 01, 2020 or until further notice by the Ministry of Education or other relevant authorities.

-26th March

– In line with the MOE announcement, IPS will remain closed for students until April 3, 2020. Online learning will still continue throughout this period to prevent the spread of virus. All classes will be conducted as per normal school time table- online. 

-25th March

– Ministry of Public Health added the following on the list of at-risk countries: Australia, Austria,Belgium,Brazil, Canada, Chile, Chech Republic, Ecuador, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland,Portugal, Turkey.

– 17th March

– The government through the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced the closure of schools including international schools from March 18, 2020, until further notice.

– In line with the MOE announcement, IPS will remain closed for students from March 18, 2020, till March 31, 2020 – while we will be conducting online learning throughout this period to prevent the spread of this virus. All the classes will be conducted as per normal school time table- online.

– 13th March

– USA, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Great Britain and Sweden are added on the list of at-risk countries by the MoPH.

– 11th March

– Spain is added on the list of at-risk countries by the MoPH.

– 8th March

– Japan, France, Germany, and Singapore are added back on the list of at-risk countries.

– Students and staff who visited the said countries are advised to stay at home for 14 days starting the date of their arrival to Thailand.

– 5th March

– Japan, Singapore, France, and Germany were removed from the list.

– 3rd March

– Presentation, and discussion with parents about Coronavirus update and IPS preventive measures for communicable diseases with Dr. Rossaphorn Kittiyaowamarn MD.

– 2nd March

– France and Germany have been added to the list of high-risk countries to do self-quarantine.

– Malaysia and Vietnam were removed by MOE from the list of High-risk countries.

– 26th February

– Travel Verification forms and passport inspection of students and staff.

– Songkran holiday travel advisory letter sent to parents and staff.

– 25th February

– MOE added Malaysia and Vietnam on the list.

– Students and staff who visited the added countries were sent home for 14 days self-quarantine.

– 24th February

– Screened students, teachers, and staff if there are any who visited the listed countries.

– 23rd February

– Letters sent to parents about Covid-19 update.

– Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea listed as high-risk countries.

– 14 days self- quarantine advised for people who visited, in transit or have close contact with someone who visited, in transited the listed high-risk countries.

– 28th January

– Screening for students who went to China.
