Inclusion Program

Inclusion Program

A Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) provides support to students with special educational needs throughout the duration of their studies.

Inclusion at International Pioneers School

At International Pioneers school, we are dedicated to providing both inclusive learning support and enrichment opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students, from those requiring additional help to those demonstrating exceptional ability.

Learning Support Program

Our three-step process ensures students with learning needs receive appropriate care:

1. Identifying the Needs

Through teacher observations, class-based assessments, and parent meetings, we identify students needing support. We offer three levels of support, as follows;

  • Level 1: In-class strategies and minimal intervention
  • Level 2: Scheduled pull-out sessions for targeted development
  • Level 3: Shadow Teacher

2. Meeting the Needs

  • Students receive an Individualized Support Plan (ISP) with annual goals, classroom strategies, and resources.
  • Teachers, parents, and the Learning Support Team work collaboratively to implement consistent support.

3. Monitoring Progress

  • We review outcomes through regular evaluations and progress reports that inform future strategies and transitions on a Term basis.

Enrichment Support for Academically Advanced and Talented Learners

Our enrichment program nurtures students who excel beyond grade-level expectations in academics or exhibit exceptional talents.

1. Identification

  • Teachers nominate students based on performance in areas such as:

         ○ Academics (Math, Science, English, Humanities)

         ○ Creative and critical thinking, leadership, empathy

         ○ Talents in music, arts, sports, and performance

  • Referrals may also be initiated by parents or students and are reviewed by the Inclusion Support Department.

2. Enrichment in the Classroom

  • Differentiated Instruction through curriculum compacting and independent study projects
  • Enrichment Corners: High-level challenges and activities available for early finishers to extend their learning

3. Whole School Initiatives

  • Talent showcases, inter-school competitions, and student-led clubs
  • Special Level Move-Up Opportunities in subjects like Math

3. Ongoing Review

  • Annual evaluations, student reflections, and collaborative planning ensure continuous growth and appropriate support

We believe every learner deserves to be seen, supported, and challenged. Whether a student needs additional help or enrichment, our programs are designed to help each child thrive and reach their full potential.

IPS SCHOOL CLINIC

Our school has a well equipped clinic which is managed by a full-time, registered and experienced nurse who strengthens and facilitates the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of school children. The major focus of school nursing services is the prevention of illness and disability, and the early detection and correction of health problems. Also, the nurse provides preliminary treatment in case of any accidental injuries. The school nurse is uniquely qualified in preventative health, health assessment and referral procedures.
